If you live in New York City, chances are you’ve either been to Nobu or heard of the sushi hotspot. Last year when in Hawaii (read more about that trip here, here and here), we spent a day in Honolulu at the Halekulani Hotel and walked right across the street to dinner. Sushi is never a disappointment at Nobu but what really stood out at this particular meal was the drinks and dessert! The Matsuhisa Martini was a simple and refreshing cocktail made with vodka, Hakusetsu sake, ginger and cucumbers. It was the perfect precursor to sushi and sashimi. Indulging since we were on vacation, we curiously went with the server’s recommendation for dessert…grilled goat cheese pound cake with black pepper ice cream, lemon curd, raw Kiawe honey, macadamia nut liqueur foam, seared strawberries and caramelized macadamia nuts! One word – amazing!
